There are a few games on the docket tonight, but one has top 25 importance—Northern Arizona University at #24 Arizona State University. The game kicks off at 10pm EST, which is 7pm PST. One of the ASU QBs, Sam Keller, is now in Nebraska. He threw for 2,165 yards, 20 TDs and 9 INTs last season. Still, the ASU Sun Devils have starter Rudy Carpenter. He threw for 2,2273 yards with 17 TDs and only 2 picks last year. Are the ASU Sun Devils top 25 material?

When Terrell Owens was picked up by the Dallas Cowboys, you just knew it was only a matter of time before he started creating problems in Cowboys camp. For most of the preseason we have been hearing about Owens’ “injury” and how he couldn’t practice. I for one am calling shenanigans. He’s a spoiled little baby and needs to be coddled. Well, the Dallas Cowboys made their first official move against Terrell Owens—the first of many perhaps.

The St. Louis Rams struggled last season going 6-10. They closed out the 2005 season by going 1-4 over their last five games. The lone win was against Dallas (20-10) in a meaningless game. This season the rams have a new coach—Scott Linehan. Are the problems gone as well? Linehan not only steps into the Rams coaching job for the first time, but as an NFL head coach too.

The quarterback situation in Buffalo Bills camp has been in turmoil since Drew Bledsoe left. According to Buffalo Bills coach, Dick Jauron, quarterback Kelly Holcomb will start the preseason opener against Carolina today for the Buffalo Bills. To avoid any type of controversy, coach Jauron, said that J.P. Losman will likely start next week’s preseason game against Cincinnati.

There are five preseason NFL football games today. There are a couple of games to watch—at least for a few minutes. Actually, I’m starving for the NFL, so I will watch an entire game at this point. Here are the match ups and the current lines.

The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Cleveland Browns in their preseason meeting tonight. Most of the Eagles scoring happened in the third quarter—they scored 14. The Cleveland Browns got their lone score in the fourth quarter. Donovan McNabb was 7 for 9 in passing for 78 yards.

The Miami Dolphins have cleared Daunte Culpepper to start in their preseason opener on Saturday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is going to be a game to watch—at least for a few minutes. Daunte Culpepper has been babied since coming off his knee surgery. On Saturday, the training wheels come off. He will finally be exposed to full contact.

On Saturday, the Pittsburgh Steelers are playing their first preseason game at Arizona. Word came down today that Ben Roethlisberger will start that game. He’s been trying to pressure coach Bill Cowher into letting him start and it appears that he won that battle.

For years the Arizona Cardinals have been good for one thing—taking up space. Their best season came back in 2001 when they won seven games. Last season they were a paltry 5-11. Could this season really be any different? Since the Arizona Cardinals had money to spend this off-season, they went out and picked up running back Edgerrin James. Will this move be enough to propel the hapless Arizona Cardinals into a possible playoff scenario?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a great season last year going 11-6. The Bucs rely on their shutdown defense to win ballgames. Their banner year came in 2002 when they won 15 games. Unfortunately, they followed up that great year with two disappointing seasons. The Buccaneers are hoping 2006 will break that trend.
