Terrell Owens – Problem Child

When Terrell Owens was picked up by the Dallas Cowboys, you just knew it was only a matter of time before he started creating problems in Cowboys camp. For most of the preseason we have been hearing about Owens’ “injury” and how he couldn’t practice. I for one am calling shenanigans. He’s a spoiled little baby and needs to be coddled. Well, the Dallas Cowboys made their first official move against Terrell Owens—the first of many perhaps.

On Friday there was a team meeting and an offensive meeting. Apparently, Mr. Owens felt that the team meeting didn’t need to include him, so he skipped it. He did make a fashionably late appearance to the offensive meeting. The latest in the Owens saga was enough to push owner Jerry Jones over the edge. The team has fined Owens $9,500 for missing the team meeting and showing up late for the offensive meeting.

Does the NFL really need drama-queen Terrell Owens? He’s incorrectly credited with helping the Philadelphia Eagles reach the Super Bowl. All he did was create team dissention in Philadelphia. Owens has started right away with his new team. He’s already testing the authority of Jerry Jones and coach Bill Parcels. Has Bill Parcels lost his edge? One thing is for sure, if Jones and Parcels don’t put Owens in his place now, he will keep testing them and causing problems.

How bout it Cowboy fans? Are you happy now that Mr. Attention is on your team? If the Cowboys don’t make it to the playoffs or perhaps out of the first round, was it worth it? The Cowboys have looked pretty sharp this preseason—all without Owens. Sound off by posting your comments below.
