Daunte Culpepper Gets the Start

The Miami Dolphins have cleared Daunte Culpepper to start in their preseason opener on Saturday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is going to be a game to watch—at least for a few minutes. Daunte Culpepper has been babied since coming off his knee surgery. On Saturday, the training wheels come off. He will finally be exposed to full contact.

Will Culpepper be ok? According to Randy McMichael, the Dolphins tight end, he’s going to be just fine. When asked about it, McMichael said, “I think Daunte will probably go find somebody to hit before they hit him.” Coach Nick Saban says Culpepper is ready to play. There’s bound to be a little psychological baggage when he takes the field.

If Daunte Culpepper can stay healthy, he gives the Dolphins a huge potential boost on offense. The Dolphins are expected to contend for the playoffs this season. The Dolphins offensive line has their work cut out for them.
